[Eren recognizes Atsushi. As he recalls, he gave the kid a pretty hard time when they were both battle angels. Eren hasn't lost himself in this role - a space knight, apparently cast beside Atsushi in his role. They're on the same side for now. That doesn't mean he'll apologize; however, his tone is non-aggressive this time.]

We meet again.

[Atsushi blinks in surprise, and it takes him a moment to place Eren, mostly because he was starting to get lost in his role, but seeing Eren, and remembering how they met before, seems to pull him back out of there, and right into the here and now, with all his usual memories intact.]

Seems like it. So, did you survive all of your fights in the end?

I did.

I'm a hard person to defeat, in or outside of this place.

That's what you said while we were in the theatre, too.
I don't want to test it myself, though I think I can at least say the same about myself.

And I don't even need to start fights with others to test that.

[no, most of the time he just gets randomly attacked, but who is counting]

If I’d started a fight with you, you’d be dead.

Hah.

[Atsushi can't help but let out a laugh, brief as it is.]

I am not trying to pick a fight with you here, so please just believe me when I say that I am not as easily killed as you might think.

How easily killed are you, then?

Well. I haven't died so far, despite all odds.

I think that's pretty telling.

Sure. You could say that about an ordinary old woman, living a peaceful life, too - or a King in a castle so far away that no enemy armies can reach him.

That doesn't make you hard to kill. It makes you lucky.

[Atsushi huffs, looking at Eren as though he just said something stupidly obvious, but he is aware that Eren has no idea who Atsushi is. Or what.]

First, I wouldn't call myself lucky. Not really. To be alive, maybe, but otherwise, no.

But you know, I can regrow my limbs if they've been cut off, and I got stabbed and cut and whatever else so many times that I lost count.
And yet, I can heal it all.
So I guess that is why I think I am hard to kill.

[One eyebrow arches upward ever so slightly.]

Sounds like you're right about that, then.

I don't suppose you happen to have a transformation ability?

Told you.

And well, funny story. I do. I can turn into a giant white tiger and the claws I got in any of the stages in between can cut through other people's abilities. At least in my world, so I am not sure if it works here too, but I assume it does.
So far, I could avoid getting attacked by anyone.

A tiger?

[Perhaps unclear: he has no idea what that is.]

Yes. Like .. a big striped cat. A predator. Very deadly!
Do you really not know what a tiger is ..?

[A bit...cat, Atsushi says.

[Okay. Perhaps Eren is underestimating how big, but it sounds a little ridiculous; mercifully, his expression doesn't betray this.]

We didn't have many animals where I came from.

[Atsushi frowns, and he can barely believe what he is hearing.]

What do you mean you didn't have many?
No ... I don't know, birds, cats? What about those held for food, like cows or pigs?

[Is it really so shocking...? Atsushi took "we didn't have many" as "we didn't have any," it seems.]

We did have the animals you just listed, but nothing called a tiger. When I traveled to other parts of the world, their animals weren't much different than ours.

Is it really so strange that someone from a different world than you would have different creatures?

Oh. So no big animals or predators? To be fair, those don't live freely in most parts of my world either. They can be looked at at Zoos, or they live in very specific places, that I've never been to either.
So maybe that's why you think that they don't exist?
We do have books or films or documentaries about them though.

And sorry, no. I am still getting used to this whole "different worlds come together" thing.

[Out of everything Atsushi says, one thing stands out. Its enough to make him softly snort, unkind; miracle that Atsushi was able to get a reaction out of him at all, but when it comes to this--]

Our predators weren't animals.

Not human either, before you ask.

Oh ... then what were they?

[He has fought vampires, at this point, nothing can surprise him any more. Or so he thinks.]

Titans. Giants with an appetite for humans.

50 meters. 100. 500. [Just an estimate on that last one - his own.]

Enough to flatten the world in enough numbers.

I ... uhm. Wow. That is .. tall.
How does one fight things like this?

I'm sure you remember the blade I showed you. ["Showed"? He held it up to his throat and threatened to kill him unless he allowed Eren to morally interrogate him.]

It's attached to a special type of mobility gear that allows one to propel themselves to the titan's nape. The nape is then cut. It's the only way.

[An extremely simplified explanation straight out of his first year cadet textbook, but it isn't untrue, necessarily.]

That being said, some are harder to kill than others. [Like Eren, for example.]

Ah yes, I remember that one. One happens to do that when threatened with them,

[He replies deadpan, but doesn't comment on it further.]

So you .. basically fly through the air, thanks to machines, high enough for you to reach those titan's necks. And close enough to their mouths, which probably comes in handy for them, huh?

[Eren gives on short nod.]

Sure. It's a risky move. Most people can't even pull it off once.

[Atsushi can only imagine what such a move would look like, or what the results could be, if failed.
He has been in similar situations and fights, no question, but he has a healing ability and super strength, so for him it's painful, of course, but not deadly. At least not this far.]

Do you have any other abilities to assist you with that? Or are those swords all that you have?

[Nosy question, but Eren asked the same; then again, Eren is a hypocrite and doesn't particularly feel like showing his entire ass to anyone who asks. Atsushi being happy to do so isn't his problem.]

I do. [And that's all he's getting.]

[Atsushi looks curiously, tilting his head ever so slightly, like a cat would do, while he looks at Eren]

And what kind of powers are those?

[He really does look like a cat...]

A transformation ability, for one. [And that still tells Atsushi very little.] That's how I recognized yours.

Oooh, that's cool! What do you transform in?

[No, Atsushi doesn't get the hint that Eren doesn't want to really tell him. After all, all of Eren's replies have been pretty cut and dry, so how would Atsushi know the difference?]

[No more room for hints, then.]

It isn’t exactly wise to show all the cards in your hand to whoever you meet. A bit of advice.

It’s safe to say that if my abilities become clear to you, you’ll be in a precarious situation. [He doesn’t mean it as a threat, really; more so to say, “You don’t want to be in a position that makes those abilities necessary.”

[…so, maybe it’s a bit of a threat, too. Whatever works.]

[Atsushi blinks, finding it a little unfair that Eren asked him about his abilities, but doesn't say anything about his own.
Even mocking him for telling.
Well, Atsushi got nothing to hide, and it's not like he hasn't worked with those that claim to be the silent and mysterious type before]

Right. Keep your secrets then.
But don't worry about me. As I said, I can take care of myself, my skills are pretty good after all.

I don't disbelieve you. [Genuine.] Time will tell either way.

That's all then. It's time for me to go.

[Atsushi huffs, feeling always so judged by Eren without him ever really doing anything. Truly, it's like his times with Akutagawa, but thanks to those, Atsushi now has the confidence to stand up to Eren and not care about what someone has to say.]

Right. You just got the info you wanted, didn't you?

Does that bother you?

[Atsushi wants to say no, as always, but when he opens his mouth, he pauses, and closes it again, with a frown.
Eventually he shakes his head.]

Yes. Yes, it does bother me. I am more than just my abilities. More than just a few information to gain.
So if you want to talk to me, do it because you actually want to talk to me, not just because you want to gain insight about my powers!

[Hm.]

Alright.

Anything more to say?

[Atsushi huffs, still standing straight and glaring ever so slightly, but his shoulders depuff a little as Eren asks.]

No. That's all from my side.

[Eren nods, simply inclining his head in way of a parting greeting - and then, he's gone.]
